Hi all

Am busily packing up all my foslings bits and bobs as she is leaving us. We look after babies/preschool age.

Everyone keeps asking if I'm ok and the truth is ... Yes I'm absolutely fine and looking forward to a break to put my own family first for a bit!!

I love fostering, think its the best job in the world and am devoted to and love my placements when they are with us. But when it's time for them to go I don't struggle with it.. Am I weird???

We have been lucky enough to have months of knowing what the outcome will very likely be for both the placements we have had so plenty of time to prepare ourselves!

Any one else or am I strange??? X

I find it varies from child to child. Some I miss so much it physically hurts, others I'm fine with moving on - especially when I can see what a lovely match has been made.

Often there's no rhyme or reason to which particular child grabs your heart either. Some just sneak in there and stick!

Don't be fooled by thinking that because you were fine moving on your first couple of placements you always will be either... I think I struggled most about number 8...
