I've got Anna Jones' a modern way to eat from the library. What should I make before I return it?

The dahl with coconut and sweet potato, it's fantastic! If you aren't veggie I've also done it and added baked (flaked) smoked haddock at the end, kind of a kedgeree type result, also amazing.

The sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo are also fab (make more than you imagine you'll need).

Avoid the preserved lemon and chickpea stew-in about 12 years and lots of dinners together DH has declared maybe 2 dishes I've made to be inedible, this was one and I had to agree Grin

Sweet potato fries, definitely. The chilli is good. And the sweet potato frittata with almond salsa is delicious too and useful to take for lunch to work...

Thank you! I was really looking forward to getting my mitts on it but haven't been as inspired as I hoped, will look up the recs and avoid the lemon and chickpeas. Funnily enough dp made something along those lines for me once - he cooks often, but never experiments, not with veggie anyway, and neither of us ate it and we normally enjoy our food, I must eat my weight in chickpeas every year, or at least what my weight should be.

It's preserved lemons. My DH loves eating and loves my cooking but in all the years we've been together the only thing he's ever refused to eat due to it being completely inedible involved preserved lemons. He wasn't wrong- it was foul. It is my personal opinion that they are less a food more an air freshener.

If you search for "a modern way to eat" on here, it should bring up the cookery book club we did on it - lots of opinions there! :)

The one thing I go back to again and again is the pan fried tofu with noodles, red cabbage and sesame seeds, I love it.
Oh and the avocado lemon pasta is good.
Sure there's more, but can't think off the top of my head, sorry.
