Veggie Lunch box ideas similar to pasties/sausage rolls

My dc love sausage rolls & various pasties in their packed lunch but I'm trying to cut down on the amount of red meat especially pork they eat so after some tasty veggie fillings that don't contain cheese or look too 'veggie'. Would quorn work as a direct replacement of mince in a pasty? Any other veggie non-pastry ideas would be great.

Quorn mince (i prefer sainsburys frozen veggie mince though) is good for mince and onion type filling

Asda do a packet mix to make veggie sausages, I have used that to make sausage rolls in the past

What about cheesy pinwheels? Puff pastry, tomato puree and grated cheese, roll it up and then cut into half inch thick slices, place flat on baking tray and bake

Ah just seen the no cheese part, ignore the last one!

I'd love a cheesy pin wheel but neither like cheese & I quite, like to stuff a few veggies/pulses in where possible. Will have a go with the quorn thanks.

Pasta is good -
Pesto
Tomato based sauce
Veggies
Tuna Mayo
Bolognese made with veggie mince

Savoury rice with spring onions, cucumber and cherry tomatoes mixed in

Chicken pieces with salad veg mixed up (spring onions, cucumber, tomato, sweet corn, celery...) I sometimes add a few pasta shapes too

BLT wraps using veggie bacon?

Brilliant they love samosas (only ever had them In a takeaway but assuming they're not difficult to make) and I do pasta already but liking the idea of just a pot of chicken pieces with bits in and wraps although again need to get away from the pork based fillings!

Quorn mince would be fine. Needs less cooking and more seasoning than meat. My ds loves pasties made with a mix of Quorn chicken-style pieces and baked beans.
If your dc would contemplate eating actual vegetables, try a filling of garlic fried grated mushrooms with shredded spinach.

I used to make nice pasties filled with chicken, leeks, peas, creme fraiche and a bit of smoky bacon for flavour although you could leave that out to avoid pork

I make chestnut sausage rolls - basically chestnut puree, onion and apple in puff pastry. They go down well - i can post the recipe if you want it.

Falafels with hummous and pitta bread/carrot sticks

Couscous with various additions - coconut and dried fruit is a good alternative to veg.

I also make savoury muffins - spinach and nutmeg are surprisingly good.

We are veggie/pescatarian.

Spanish omelette was always a favourite for packed lunches. Very nutritious, especially if you add stuff such as peas, spinach, peppers, chopped olives, etc, etc. plus is can be made in advance in a big batch, cut up & frozen or kept in the fridge it will keep for a few days.

Maki rolls are also good & nutritious & can be made in batches to keep a couple of days in the fridge too. I used to make 3 days worth & pack them ready with soy or sweet chilli dips etc, so you could just grab one for the day. They are very easy to make if you buy a rolling mat, which are very cheap in ethnic supermarkets, as is the the sushi rice & seaweed

I also made pasties with tuna, mashed with potato, carrots & peas, which were also popular & patties, with turmeric in the pastry & mild curry mixed flavoured veg mashed with sweet potato again they can be frozen

Turkey fillings might be a hit, cheap and tasty

Cornish pasties - still red meat but with added veg.

If you like samosas do you have a sweet centre near you? My favorite one sells samosas for 20p each.

You can mix meat and quorn/soya mince so you are reducing the meat but it still tastes like meat.

Veggi quiche or Spanish omelettes.

We make Chelsea buns but with savoury fillings e.g. pesto or sun dried tomato paste with roasted veg. After Xmas we fill them with leftovers like cranberry sauce, stuffing, stilton etc. They are delicious!

Veggie scotch eggs: Defrost Linda McCartney rosemary and red onion sausages flatten out put half a teaspoon of scrambled egg (I add a slice of jalapeno) form a ball of 'sausagemeat' around the egg spray or drizzle with oil bake in oven for 20 mins

Veggie Cornish pasties

I saw an idea online for veggie sausage rolls, which were essentially packet stuffing made up with a few chopped vegetables, wrapped in puff pastry.

Linda McCartney sausage rolls are nice (freezer) - they are much nicer than the Quorn ones.

These look nice and avoid the deep frying. I used to make something similar for my daughters which were like a savoury mince pie (with a top) - chopped veggies, spices, drained tin of green lentils.

Do they like mushrooms? Little pies with fried mushrooms, onions, garlic and a bit of soured cream.

Curry puffs - onions, spices, chickpeas wrapped in puff pastry

These are nice. Lentil based 'sausage' rolls.
