What part is missing from my food processor? Picture attached.

I was recently given a Kenwood food processor but I can't use it. I'm trying to use chop and slice facility but the circular blades don't fit on. I think I might need an adaptor to go on the top of the driveshaft but I'm not sure. The processor has lid, pusher, knife blade, all present but not in the photo. I tried to take off the plastic part of the driveshaft but can't remove it. I'm thinking that it doesn't come off.

Can you please look at photos and tell me what I need?
