I'm currently very pregnant and can't stop eating. So I was just wondering, purely for research purposes and not greed at all , what your favourite comforting meal or snack is?

Mine is currently a jacket potato with garlic mayonnaise mixed in with the mash, baked beans, lots of strong vintage cheddar and crispy salad onions sprinkled on top. Filthy but delicious... Grin

French fries, grated cheddar (has to be Sainsbury's Basics one..!) and gravy. A cheat version of poutine. I've had a horrid sick bug for the past 72 hours and that's literally the only thing I can handle without it reappearing within 10 minutes.

On the plus side, I've lost 7lbs since Sunday. Every cloud and all that.

Mine is a cheese and onion sandwich, but has to be white bread, vintage cheddar cheese and loads of red onion

Or, a ham sandwich with Patak's Mango pickle.

Or a reeses nutrageous bar.

Or a plate of sausage and mash, fried onions, peas and gravy.

Really good sausages (must be baked not grilled) with baked beans (cooked for ages so they go all thick) and crusty white bread with loads of butter.

Almost anything with pastry, but probably not Danish Pastries. Things like Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, Pork Pie, Minced Beef Pie etc..

Heinz tomato soup and a grilled cheese sarnie.

Rice pudding (from the chilled aisle rather than tinned, if not homemade), ideally with some tinned rhubarb but otherwise with a dollop of plum or fig jam.

Toast and Marmite.

Chow mein, ramen or udon in soup ... noodles. Chilli and mushroom!
Nachos with a lot of topping especially guacamole.
Cheese and garlic mushrooms on toast.
Samosas.
Whole prawns with mayo.

A cheese board with bread and pickle has to be number one though!
