freezing rice

I've just made some lentil and rice patties which DS2 actually ate (he's autistic and has multiple allergies so food is a constant challenge). Can I freeze them? They've got red lentils, brown rice, carrots and onions in them. I know you have to be very careful with reheated rice so I'm a bit wary, but I really don't want to be making them one at a time!
If the consensus is that they're OK to freeze, should I defrost them before cooking or can I cook them from frozen? (They're fried.)
Thanks - I'm useless where freezing is concerned.

Hello

I often make risotto for my dd and freeze it. The only problem i've had is that it's never really as nice once it's been frozen. The rice goes all mushy for some reason.

I always defrost before reheating and always make sure it's really, really hot before giving it to her.

they're fine to freeze - thaw overnight in fridge then cook till really hot through.

You could freeze them unfried, thaw and fry; or (as I sometimes do for this kind of thing), fry, then freeze, then thaw and reheat in microwave.
