DP bought a Tamil curry spice mix from small local shop. It's supposed to be mixed with coconut cream. He doesn't like coconut so just mixed some (far too much as well!) with water and cooked with that. It was completely inedible, although you could tell it probably had a nice flavour underneath.
It hadn't occurred to him it needed something creamy to form the sauce and you can't just leave that part out. I'm thinking of trying it mixed with natural yoghurt instead - do you think that would work?
