Ok I am due at work in an hour and need an answer please

If I am making a shepards pie in the slow cooker do I put the mash on top as well or do the mash seperate and add when serving?

I was kind of hoping that I wouldn't have a disaster if i put it on now as dh will have to feed the kids tonight and as I won't be finished till 10:15 tonight so wanted to leave something simple.

Make sure the mash is mashed and leave it on one side. Get dh to warm it andput on top of the meat, if he can put it under the grill with a bit of buytter on the top it will make it go really nice and crispy (the mash). Yummy.
