Title says it all really. I would like the family to eat more pulses and lentils - not a veggie book - would like maety recipes as well.

Any ideas?

TIA

I've been chucking beans and lentils into pretty much all the casseroles and spag sauces I've been making lately and they all love them. Me and DH losing weight too because we eat smaller portions but feel fuller. I got a few books from the library but can't remember what they were - will try and recall....

I have an excellent book called Beans and Lentils by Rose Elliot, published by Fontana. Mind you it must be about 25 years old now so it might not be in print any longer. It only cost 99p at the time. It is a veggie book but it is only tiny (about 30 recipies).

Yes, Red Lentil Dahl, which dd is tucking into as I type. It's very easy: Boil up lentils until soft. While they are simmering, heat curry powder (about 2-3 teaspoons)in olive oil, add chopped onion and caraway seeds. Add in the lentils when soft, and some passata or tin of tomatoes (chopped) then simmer for 10 mins. Sometimes I add rasins. Don't let it get dry. Dd likes this with peas and a dollop of natural yoghurt. Goes well with rice or naan or boiled tatties.

Rose Elliot's 'The Bean Book' - great. Or her 'Cheap and Easy'.
