What to serve with slow cooked lamb with pomegranate?

Having folk over for dinner on Saturday. I quite fancy trying a lamb with pomegranate recipe as the main course. I'm making rosewater and pistachio pavlova for dessert.

Has anyone got any interesting starter ideas that would go with the above?

Also what to accompany the lamb? Cous Cous? Dauphinoise?

Cous cous or bulghar wheat. Dauphinoise would be a bit weird with all those middle-eastern-y flavours.

Tabbouleh if you can be bothered to chop a stack of herbs really fine.

Or just chuck a handful of dried mint into the cous cous.

Salad: tomato and coriander salad works well (finely chopped tomatoes or halved cherry toms, loads of finely chopped fresh coriander, couple of spring onions finely chopped, half a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of sugar. Leave to stand for at least 30 mins).

Starter: hoummous, baba ghanoush (aubergine dip), pita breads, sumac, labneh and zaatar to dip.

I had thought of huomous and baba ganoush, but we eat humous so often I wanted something different.

I'm interested in the Greek yoghurt cheese though and had never heard of sumac.

Will give the salad a try too.
