Has anyone done a roast in their slow-cooker, say a leg of lamb or a chicken? I've just got the 6.5 litre morphy richards one and I'm desperate to try it out! Any recommendations?

shortcake I have roasted a chicken loads of times. You can brown the outside first if you want but I just bung it straight in with no liquid and cook for recommended time in your book. Meats "roasted" in the slo cooker will not be as crisp as those done in the oven but they will be far more succulent. Try and get a joint that fits the cooker snugly. About 4-6 hours on high should be fine but you will need to judge it for yourself depending on the weight.
