salmon and white wine

I have got salmon fillets, white wine, butter, mushrooms but no onions, garlic, cream, herbs etc. Anyone think of anything inspiring I can do?!!

Well I have some thyme I think but we've had it for about 3 years - would it still be okay?!!

No dried thyme would not be good and will have probably gone off by now. Do you have soy sauce?

Well you see I don't usually go in for sauces. I usually just shove the salomn in the oven for 15 minutes but fancied doing something a bit more fancy tonight for dh. I have got other things like eggs, milk etc, I just listed relevant things

ooh spooky we're having salmon tonight.

We just have it with chopped onion, pepper, herbs, italian garlic seasoning and a bit of butter, wrap in tin foil and put in oven.

can't give you oven numbers and times cos our cooker is quirky and odd

Well, it won't kill you Just might be bland without any onions, garlic etc.

Pan fry the salmon, make a sauce with the butter (and milk/wine/flour??), fry mushrooms and add to sauce.. er.. add cheese?

can I just say it's easier in the oven - you don't have to stand over it! It's loooovely too!

Ok - mix soy sauce with a couple of teaspoons of sugar (add lemon juice, ginger and chilli if you have them) Pan fry the salmon and just befor it is cooked add the soy sauce. Et Voila Teriake salmon it's really yummy and easy

Okay, think will go with Soupy's shoving it all in oven with everything!! Thanks everyone, will drwon it in wine, add mushrooms, bit of butter and serve with broccoli and mash. Hurrah

mum used to do salmon poched in white wine (add herbs eg dill peppercorns bay leaf etc) it was really good subtle but amazing ans very easy no mess

just put salmon in pan pour in wine add seasoning cover pan turn up gas and simmer till cooked couldnt be easier/tastier !
id then reduce the wine lft cook the mushrooms in butter add tiny bit corn flour to thicken fry off and add the wine to make a sauce (obv.better with cream as well if you could get any)
have you any dried herbs ?? compo

Just to thank you all and let you knw we had a lovely dinner We had salmon baked for 30 minutes with wine poured on, baked with peppers, mushroom and served with boiled potatoes and broccoli. Dh liked it and it was healthy - success!!
