Am cooking a "lets get things back on track" meal tonight and need some ideas on what to cook. Have got a pregnancy craving for smoked salmon (know I'm not meant to have it by the way!) but can't think of a main course. Something relatively easy please!

try smoked salmon mixed with creme fraiche and hot pasta... lovely... by heating it, you will get rid of any issues you have about eating it..

and as for desert, try toblerone fondue -- melt tobelerone and a tub of double cream together... dip in strawberrries and marshmallows... divine...

Wow...toblerone fondue..just started drooling like Homer Simpson....
I am going to use that one for our annual Christmas Eve romantic dinner (bundle the kids in bed early, casserole ready in the slow cooker, open a bottle of wine, wrap pressies, eat, drink and be merry

How about steak and fat chips followed by some gorgeous choccie pudding.

this is from the food standards agency website:

Can I eat cold meats and smoked salmon when I'm pregnant?
Some countries advise pregnant women not to eat cold meats or smoked fish because of the risk of listeria. In the UK, we don't advise women to avoid these products because the risk is very low. The risk of listeria is much higher with soft mould-ripened cheeses (such as Brie and Camembert) or pâté, which you shouldn't eat during pregnancy. However, if you are concerned, you might also choose to avoid cold meats and smoked fish while you are pregnant.
