I haven't read the book so the story was new to me. Thoroughly enjoyed it but wow! it was emotional. I cried.

What do others think?

It stayed with me. I did find it hard to have sympathy with them for what they had done though.

I found the scenes with Grace most harrowing when the deception was revealed

sleigh i agree with you. Some of it was really hard to watch. I found Hannah much more sympathetic than Isabel. The scene in the police station was particularly awful. Surely if she loved the child she would have put her own feelings aside to make the transition easier for her? Easy for me to say, I suppose, as I've never been in that situation.

My plain speaking friend who was with me just said (about Isabel) " That girl needs a good slap!" !!!

I absolutely loved the book and was worried that the film wouldn't hold up but it was a really good adaptation, the scenery was just as I imagined and I cried all over again. Well worth seeing.
