I have been searching this film everywhere for the last year with no joy. Was shown on Film4 last week and recorded. God it's still an awesome film! I watched in the cinema when I was 23 almost 10 years ago.

Awesome film, awesome soundtrack. Still as good as ever!

I love love love the last scene, it's bizarrely completely uplifting! I always end up with goosebumps.

I had the book first, and saw the play before the film was made, and love it in all guises. Smile

Fantastic film. Really iconic of the 90's for me.
I was living in London at the time and remember the posters all up with no real explanation. Created a real buzz. The film does still hold up yes. That scene where Renton goes to steal the money and sees that Spud is awake and he just nods to him. Then he leaves him a wag in that locker. Brilliant.

Choose life Grin

I had the green edition on vhs way back when. It was the special edition of its time. We have it on dvd somewhere, but I haven't watched it in years.

I remember the posters everywhere too, all with the orange Trainspotting logo with the individual characters. Didn't Renton's one have him dripping wet in a too small tshirt? I remember thinking I'd still do Ewan McGregor as a junkie!

10 years ago, more like 20 that it was out.
Can't wait to see the new one.

Oh yes to wanting to have a bit of mark Renton! How they made a junkie sexy I don't know.

Although in the book not so much...

I hope kelly Macdonald is in the new one but I haven't heard?

I watch it and try to figure out where the scenes are.

I've been to most of them. The nightclub is long gone. I imagine the scheme is too- anyone know where that was?

I loved that film and then watched it last year for the first time in ages, the scene with the dead baby was awful, I'd totally forgotten about it. And the bit with the disgusting toilet
It definitely still holds up, unlike a lot of other 90s films

It's a well loved film in this house. DH had a special video set that included the film, a pair of orange glasses and an orange joint/cig roller! He didn't smoke but good use of the glasses for years.

DS is now 19 and very excited about TS2, he's been keeping us informed of updates for the last 2 years Grin

I was in this film! I attended the school that Diane went to and you get a very brief glimpse of me while Renton walks her to school the morning after the night before! I was 12 or 13 i think!

One of my favourite scenes is when Renton and Spud are sharing a milkshake and then Spud goes for the job interview GrinGrin

I'm going to see this at the cinema in a couple of weeks. They are screening it as part of the Edinburgh Film Festival to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Ewan mcgregor and Robert Carlisle have both been known to pitch up unnanounced during the festival in the past and that might have been a small motivator to get tickets. And even if they don't I'd still love to see it at the cinema.
