I wasn't expecting much but the dialogue was good and all the minor comedy characters were well cast, and Melissa McCarthy is just fabulous at slapstick, physical comedy. Sandra Bullock did her usual role of emotionless, unsympathetic, work-obsessed misfit who gradually softens and makes friends (so exactly the same as Miss Congeniality and 2 Weeks Notice).
It took a while to get used to McCarthy, it all sounds very unscripted, as though she's making it up as she goes along, but some of the wisecracks are hilarious.
It was just nice to go to the cinema for a change, usually I'm at home with the DC in the evenings.
