I am a SAHM. DH brings me tea and toast in bed while I BF DD normally, so I just skip the toast at breakfast. I skip lunch and just sit with them drinking a cup of tea. I then eat a proper dinner without the carbs or with a smaller portion that I've worked out to be 500 kcal. It's been really easy to stick to as I don't do anything special.
I am a sahm. On FDs I skip breakfast (they never notice, I busy myself unstacking the dishwasher or DH sits with them whilst I shower). Then I have a boiled egg and veg, or some soup for lunch. In the evening I rarely eat anyway, but things like veggie curry without the rice, or a hearty bean casserole would be fine.
I'm wanting to try this out but am looking for ideas of what to cook that will work with family meals. I've seen some lovely 5:2 recipes online... but not ones that I can imagine working as meals for DS (6) DD (3) and DH (veggie).
How do people on here manage? I'd been thinking about making fast days soup days, with me only having the soup and not the bread - would that work? I work 4 days a week so would have one 'meal' at work.
