Fasting / 5:2 diet

Second day fasting feeling very shaky .. Normal?

This is my second day of fasting first day went surprisingly well ! But I am finding today a lot harder. I took DD out for a walk around eleven and after about ten minutes felt very weak and like my legs were going to give way so had to cut our walk short. I have drunk heaps and heaps of water this morning so I don't think it was dehydration. Anyone had anything similar or is it just my body getting used to it? How many fast days before it will stop?

I only ever managed 2 in a row on the first time and never again. I can cope with one 500 cal day easily enough ( apart from being a little bit grumpy) but at two I was weak, unable to concentrate and generally not much use for anything. I figured that no diet was worth that, but if I do say a Monday and Wed or Thu I'm fine. You may not be doing the 5:2 though.

Oh dear OP ok that's a little different. Have you had anything to eat today ? I have just had a (sadly quite disgusting) lunch of broccoil, brussel sprouts mixed with lentil soup. I was using up stuff from the fridge, with my fast days I have lunch and dinner. If you are really hungry then you can get zero cal jellies ( not wonderful but fill you up) or have a miso soup at around 32 cals.

Thanks rookie I have had some soup and crispbread and more water and feel fine now. Maybe it was a mistake not to have breakfast perhaps next time I will just try a boiled egg or something...

Your lunch sounds delicious......Wink

Ha ha - i heart, I had made DS and his friend homemade pizza, it hadn't turned brilliantly so when it looked like they were about to turn up their noses at it, I threatened to swap with my lunch - they started eating pretty quickly !

I find I'm ok until lunch - but I drink coffee with milk so that could be why.
