Fasting on metformin - anyone?

I am on metformin (PCOS and insulin resistence) and wondered if there were any other fasters out there also taking it? After fasting last week, I had a few occasions one morning of dizzy spells and funny vision...cue: I had to eat urgently!

I am assuming that becasue the metformin regulates blood sugar, I woke with no sugar in the blood, hence the symptoms?

Has anyone else experienced this and how do you overcome it whilst maintaining a fast?

I hope that this diet will drastically improve my PCOS/insulin resistence so I can ultimately come off the drugs!
