Mirena - 6 weeks in and still bleeding!

Not a heavy flow, but enough to need a pad rather than a liner. It just hasn't stopped. It's bright red and really getting on my nerves (and my husband's). Also have had 2 bouts of thrush and what I believe to be small cysts :(
Definitely not what I was expecting. Am considering having the damn thing removed.
Any experiences of the above sorting itself out?
TIA

My spotting after the Mirena was fitted has stopped in the last couple of weeks, fingers crossed, I had it inserted mid April.
Although apart from the first few days, the bleeding has been very light.

This happened to me the first time I had it fitted. Eventually I was given the pill as well for 2 months to calm it down and it was fine after that (just 3 days spotting once a month). The 2nd time I got the coil, it got even better and my periods stopped altogether. Go back to see the Dr if it doesn't settle - the pill certainly sorted it out for me. HTH.

I had spotting constantly for the first 3 months. My skin also got very bad.

I was about to have it taken out, then after 3 months it was fine. My periods did not stop as with some people. But I had a period every 28 days for the next 5 years.

I was the same as you. At 6 weeks I went to the Dr and asked to have it removed. I was told to give it another couple of weeks. During those 2 weeks it stopped and been fine ever since. I have had three very very light bleeds since then - one day each time. I've been very happy with mine now for 4 and a half years.
