Just after a bit of advice from anyone who may have been in the same situation. I had my first child nearly 11 years ago and I got bad pre eclampsia and she was born 10 weeks premature. I was advised that this would not happen again with my second however it did this was 8 years ago but the pre eclampsia was not as bad. I am considering having a third child but before I try I am looking at the options just wondered if anyone had the same or similar situation.

I had pre-eclampsia twice. I haven't tried a third time.
My first was an emergency c-section not related to the pre-eclampsia. I took an elective c-section at 39 weeks with my second. Due to the previous emergency section and my being 40 at the time that kept a very close eye on me.
I thought I had escaped the pre-eclampsia the second time around but on the morning I went in for my section my BP shot up and that was that. I was kept in for 10 days. 3 days longer than the first time.
I was lucky in that both pregnancies went to term.
Was your second prem? Did you have c-sections?

This is the family planning, as in contraception, topic.

You might like to ask MNHQ to move to General Health of Pregnancy (both of which are busier topics and so it's more likely to be spotted by posters who can help)
