Stopping Cerazette?

I'm 49 and have been taking Cerazette because of my very painful periods. They have helped, in that the pain is almost gone, I just take a couple of paracetamol.

However, I now have very painful breasts for two out of four weeks, my period lasts longer and is completely irregular, sometimes starting again a week after the last one and quite heavy. My gp has recommended changing to Micronor if I must take the pill, but would prefer me to have the Mirena coil fitted, which isn't going to happen. I've read too much about how reluctant gps are to remove them if there are any problems. However, she commented on there being dangers in taking the mini pill at my age. Obviously I know there are always risks in taking hormonal contraceptives, but I was under the impression that the mini pill is reasonably safe.

I go back to see the gynae in june to discuss, but think in the meantime I may just give up, rather than trying another.

What would you do? Anyone had similar experience?

My worry is my periods may come back worst than before Sad

Noone any experience with this?

I'll probably not take any more from today, just wondered if anyone could tell me about their experience after coming off Cerazette. Or whether things improved if they changed to a different mini pill.
