For what in particular? I don't think any school is going to provide detailed lesson plans to parents in general.

I am intrigued as to why you would want a lesson plan for an extra-curricular activity; do they even exist?

Well, I do plan my Brownie meetings quite carefully Feenie, but I'm not sure they count as lessons.
I hope the OP comes back though, I am intrigued about what it is she wants to know.

I was told by trusted friend that school has to provide then on request - I plan to travel with my son for 2 months, thats why, so i can keep him up with his studies on return

I think there is a confusion of terminology here. A lesson plan is exactly that - a plan a teacher makes for each individual lesson in order to make sure that they are delivering the lesson they want to deliver. You don't need this, and it wouldn't be much use to you anyway.
What you want is a curriculum outline so that you know what topics the class will be covering while your child is absent. The school is not obliged to give you this - but they probably would if you asked - our school gives parents a curriculum newsletter each term which details the topics each year group will cover.

Also how old is your son? I would think he will learn much more from just travelling and encountering new cultures etc. You just need to keep up with English and Maths. You maybe able to keep in touch with school via email etc.
I assume he is primary age, not due to sit GCSEs.
Also you need to ensure he will still have a school place when you get back. Do talk to the school, and not demand, just ask how you can help him to keep up etc.

You can get lots of information about the curriculum from the Dept. of Education website.

I'm sure your son's teacher would be happy to tell you roughly what she'll be covering while he's away as long as long as you approach it nicely and make it clear that you don't expect anyone to set specific work for him. Have the school agreed to keep a place for him?
