Just wonder if experienced dance mums or experts will know the above?

Do you mean that are the standard of GCSE / A level, or that give UCAS points for university entrance? (not that I can help with either, but might be helpful for others to clarify)

Funnily enough, I was just looking at this.

Here is the table for UCAS points for dance exams. For comparison, a C at AS level is worth 40 points, a C at A level is worth 80 points, an A at A level is worth 120 points.

However, note that most courses at the better universities require A level grades not UCAS points.

So if e.g. the offer for Law is AAA, you can't get in with AAB + grade 8 ballet!

If all that is a bit baffling, maybe grade 6=GCSE, intermediate=AS level, advanced=A level.

My dd was really proud when she got her intermediate tap and somebody told her she had her first AS level.

And no, it won't make any difference to her uni applications, as she will be applying for engineering Grin

Grades 4, 5 & Inter Foundation are Level 2 qualifications on the QCF as GCSE's are. They are however smaller qualifications.

Grades 6-8, Internediate & Advanced Foundation are Level 3 the same as A Levels/Btec level 3 diplomas. They have UCAS points.

Advanced 1 & 2 are Level 4 do don't have UCAS points as they are higher than A Level.

Is it ISTD?

I don't think Jazz awards are on the qualifications framework.

I don't really know but can find tonight. Just dance exams and preparations are so expensive. I just want to wait till she s ready to take a higher grade exam before we spend more money. As her dance school do do thier own tests and certifications like real exams but a lot cheaper and don't require extra coaching lessons. The children will still be moved to the next grade anyway. Because my dd s doing ballet, tap, jazz, modern, drama. Each exam s very expensive. We can't afford to do all of them every year. So I may skip most of the exams until grade 4/5.
