Daily Mail misrepresenting 'EU rules' - again

One of the top stories: headline

Demonised for buying baby milk Tesco bans mother's car park discount because she bought formula milk... and it's all because of EU rules
Tesco refused to allow Laura Leeks, 34, a refunded parking voucher
She had gone to Braintree store to buy formula milk for her baby
Can't breastfeed her four-month-old son after his lifesaving heart surgery
Under UK law, Tesco said it can't give price reductions on customers just buying infant formula milk.
Now this is a blatant misrepresentation as it is the international code on breast milk substitutes that prevents vouchers such as the one n the article being handed out when purchasing breast milk substitutes such as formula.

Where can I complain about this editorial misrepresentation? thank you.

"DM publishes blatant lies about the EU" - yup, all the time.

You can complain away. Water off a duck's back.

It is drivel. Just stop reading it.

Yes, but this is to shore up the Brexit vote, in case people get anxious about rising prices and start to question the wisdom of it.

I wonder what's in it for the Daily Heil? And when they have got their way, what other cause will they espouse which makes them richer but does nothing for the customers which buy their fascist rag? [rant]

the 'article' included an image of a formula brand, maybe they got paid for it (-: covert advertising

You might like to have a look at this thread

This (non) story has also been in the Guardian.

What I understand from the other thread is that there has been an EU ruling on it as well, and that UK is currently bound by that (something to do with how EU and national laws interact?). And it is of course true that post-Brexit it will be a matter for a Parliament.

That does not of course mean it goes away, because of UN obligations. So to that extent aim I agree it's misleading.

Has the Daily Mail apologised for the whole supporting Hitler business yet?

Stop Funding Hate may well be the best route for doing something about the Daily Heil and its ilk, especially following the recent LEGO story.

Here's the Eureopean Commission's list of the UK's euromyths. It doesn't take very long to see that the source of nearly all of them is The Daily Mail.

'It is drivel. Just stop reading it.'

Yes it can be drivel, but how is the solution not to read it?

When I feel like reading the news I read everything - Mail, Express, Sun, Guardian, Times, The Independent, Daily Star, Mirror ...

I enjoy the full spectrum. I like to keep an open mind and be aware of all the perspectives ..
