Sadly I suspect he's never going to disappear completely.

He's had chronic ill health for some time. And I expect he'll quit demanding roles, but will pop up as a commentator (if it goes well, that is)

They haven't yet got what they want.

There is a strong core of people who wanted out in favour of pursuing a free trade agreement with the EU, and that would require accepting EU immigrants still.

That's not what UKIP want.

Ukip are only just getting started.

They now have an excellent campaigning machine of people who teach the parts others do not.

With a brexit government ukip will have a pact not to stand against brexit tories and joyfully take the 45-50% of labour voters away in their heartlands.

They'll also start campaigns on local issues, I suspect the social services will be first in their line of fire, and make inglorious pains in the rear of themselves. There are still about eighty percent of mps who either need re-education or replacement and they will be targeted mercilessly.

The lib dems are dead and buried, labour has to sort itself out very quickly indeed. 2020 is going to be an interesting election.

Oh and I doubt farage would accept a trip to the Lords.

With Labour now in turmoil too, it's more important than ever that the majority stand up and counter Farage.

This means actually educating people rather than insulting, belittling and pushing them to be even more resolute in their beliefs. Farage is popular because people have made him so with their own poor behaviour so it's vital this changes.

He is an agitator and will no doubt be highly critical of the plans that the government put in place and as he will not get a say in any of it will keep causing trouble

How popular UKIP will be now much is down to what labour will do but things are looking hopeful this morning

ocelot41 they will claim a massive victory but the opirtunities are now there to dilute their voice.

Trouble was, many were anti EU for reasons other than immigration but UKIP was the only major force campaigning for out, and that was on an immigration agenda. It certainly stuck in my throat to have something in common with them, even though what I want post EU bears no resemblance to their vision.

The assumption was wrongly made that voting out is all about immigration. Now the majority vote was for out, this is where we'll see those who couldn't see otherwise were scaremongering, thank goodness.

There were a broad range of opinions that led people to vote to leave, just as not everyone who voted Remain did so for the same reason.

The referendum wasn't the end, it was just the start. Now comes the time where the Leave campaign splits into seperate factions and we'll see the various proposals being canvassed as to where we go post EU. It'll take a while to get to the stage where there's one clear forerunner of what we want and with what compromises, and negotiation can begin.

Why would a majority of leave voters see the overwhelmingly Pro EU labour mps as a positive vote?

With a few exceptions they are yesterday's men.
