Did anyone see that report on the news last night about electronic waste?

no, but I've seen similar before. did it talk about how many people just dump things and how the govt has only just started being able to deal with it properly anyway?

It mostly focussed on the exportation of illegal waste and where it ended up (mainly China).

I naively thought we were polluting our own backyard with our waste, didn;t realise we were sending it round the world by boat to pollute other places as well.

They did mention recycling facilities in the UK.

ah yes.

just goes to show how we should all be using less rather than using the same amount and recycling it really. I saw a report about a town in India where they hand pick over plastic waste and then burn the rest causing massive health problems for everyone.

Yep - it was truly shocking!

makes you wonder how many of these companies that offer to dispose of unwanted mobiles, pc's etc are doing it in proper ways, and not just shipping it all to china to make a bit of money..
