Why has the cost of loft insulation rocketed?

Annoyingly we only managed to get around to doing half the loft last year before we ran out of insulation (and then the weather improved and we forgot about it). We are now wanting to finish but the insulation is about four times as much!! Does anyone know if there is a reason? Presumably something to do with subsidies?

Yes it will be to do with the subsidies ending very soon
Get it now because it will go up even more
Though is there a reason you didn't claim it free through British gas?

If your loft didn't have recommended loft insulation (even if it had some) you could get it free from brittish gas or b and q (bnq are about 10 times quicker)
