hi all just joined today
how is that when your partner leaves you and you have not worked for years and still looking after your child you cant claim any sickness benefits ?? i was told is was because i had no national insurance as i had not worked the previous 2 yrs prior.
So staying at home looking after children you are punished by not being able to claim
Has anyone else had same problem please ???

you can claim disability benifits instead hun.

I can't claim ESA- the new version of incapacity benifit as my national insurance contributions have run out as ive not been able to work.

i do however claim disability you need to have a report done by a doctor etc.

good luck x
also shouldn't your tax credits go up aswell now your on your own? also check out council tax and housing benifits
