he is working all hours and getting no thanks (or payment) fior it, he arely sees the dc. his boss is a right cow to him and I am really worried about the affect it is having on his mental health. He has been working so hard, yesterday I was very very ill and he had to take the day off to look after the dc. when he phoned up his boss was really funny with him and I have just called him to see if he is Ok and he says no he is in a lot of trouble. I need to do something I cant bear the thought of him being so unhappy. I know it is not the best time but my job hunt starts now, I cant stand him being so unhappy, I just wish there was some way we could manage, he is worried (as is everyone right now) about redundancy as they made some people at his work redundant last week, his boss is holding this fear over them and everyone is working daft hours and trying to not be the person bottom of the pecking order almost.
It is crap, I cant bear seeing him so unhappy.

This is so hard isn't it. We went through this last year - DH absolutely loathed his job and was an utter misery for weeks! He had unreachable targets, loads of pressure from above and couldn't stand the job anyway.

We decided that it was going to be both of our responsibility/job to find him a new job and we did. I am a SAHM and spent many hours scouring job websites. This was last Sept tho and prospects were better then admittedly.

He is so much happier now. He is doing a job he really likes and is good at with the added bonus of being better paid than his last job.

It is like a dark cloud has lifted off of all us. I wish you all the best and hope another job comes along for your DH.

Thanks, I am a SAHM as well, I have offered to try and get a job but dh gets really upset and says that everything is so crap that he doesnt want me to have to go through what he is. I cant believe that every job is this shit truely.
I am livid that they would be so horrible when he gives them so much. he phone dhis dad yesterday as he was upset about what his boss had said and his dads response was well what do you expect, you cant take time pff because your wife is ill (I think it is the second time he has done this and dd1 is 5.5) I was so ill that I couldnt get out of bed, how the hell was I supposed to look after 2 children, my mum has taken them today.
I feel like crap, I feel like it is my fault and I dont know how to mak things better for dh.

DH has taken today and tomorrow off (and however long he has to)to look after our DCs as I have had another MC. It is so shitty to think his employers would have a problem with this!!

None of this is your fault so stop thinking that way - I'm sure feeling ill is making you feel this way. You are doing your best to support him and have offered to help which he doesn't want. What more can you do?

I guess you need to just think practically -DH unhappy with is job.

  1. What can he do to improve the situation?

2.Does he need to find a new job?
Something is going to have to change because he will make himself ill if he keeps plodding along the way things are.

I do hope you are feeling better soon. I gotta go to bed it is very late here! (I'm is Australia). Take care.
