Work

would this be an advantage or disadvantage when being interviewed?

I am being interviewed tomorrow for a band 6 nurse position in conjunction with my local university to do my pg dip in public health. The HV on the panel of interviewers is one of my personal HV team members. I do have a good rapport with her but am terrified of having to do a presentation for 10 mins infront of her.
Do you think knowing her will be an advantage/disadvantage?

Personally I have always found it easier to 'perform' in front of strangers rather than people I ahve work with/for, that said it has never stopped me from getting the job.

Just remember that whilst she may be someone you get on well with she still has to be objective during an interview so probably best to deal with it as though you don't know her so that you give the best responses.

Thanks LBAM I will definately remember to do that. I perform better infront of strangers as well which is why I am so worried. I have also spoken to the course leader and had to pester her to tell me how to apply for this position because I am not part of a trust atm, so I hope she feels that because I was so persistant that she sees this as a plus point iyswim. She also knows that I had to produce a 1500 word assignment in less than a week. Although this isn't a lot, it is without any warning and with 2 children under 3! The assignment was part of the application.
