How do I demonstrate that I am able to grasp local political issues?

I can but not sure how to demonstrate.

Children's Centre Manager.

I can think of things that I do/anyone would do to keep abreast (as you say NJ) of current issues. How I prove that explicitly is tricky.

I was involved with local issues when I was feeding back to and being directed by the Steering group for the rural children's centre pilot in Cumbria but it wasn't that direct or iyswim and this was a singular experience, I think.

I'm racking my brains because all the work I've done PAYE has been indirectly linked to local political issues - mental health, child care and development and community development work!

Mmm....I would just put down the work you have done indirectly and say that although it is indirect, you have grasped the local political issues....need for child care development etc and put down what you did, why, who you worked with ???

Does that help at all or am I just talking bollox??

Blimey NJ! I am not an ideas stealer but that would SO help me. I just know I can do all these jobs I have applied for in recent times but have a feeling I'm not wording things in the 'right' way. Feedback from last application was that my letter of application was excellent just that other applicants demonstrated more direct experience.

I do tend to write things pretty well I guess I'm just not saying the right things all of the time - maybe I sell myself short a bit judging by what SenoraPostrophe's observations were.

This is so helpful. I'm glad I posted even if it is a little 'exposing'!
