went to interview, was told I was the best candidate but...

they then changed the requirements, so nobody they interviewed got the job! This is the third time this has happened to me. The IT job market at the moment is pants - glad I'm not actually out of work.... (the last interview was for a major household name as well)!

Sorry to hear that. You make all that effort at the interview and then the job is taken from you.

What a waste of time -you should ask them to cover your travle ( & time!!) - something that dh refuses to ever do, but in this case - why are companies so crap ?

I'm glad I didn't take holiday from work - I got around it by making the time up at home in the evening. The travel only cost me a few quid, but it's the time wasted as well isn't it? I did complain to the agent but I doubt he'll pass it on - although he wasn't too pleased either, he sent 3 candidates in good faith.
