DP and I decided a couple of years ago that we like the soundo of Dubai. We took a jolly over to have a we look round...and loved it!! However 2 wee babies arrived quite quickly and delayed our plans, but now we're ready to start looking again.

Any advice?

No mumsnetters from Dubai! Surely not, I thought we were everywhere So if we move over there, my LOs will be able to eat their grapes in the supermarket...in peace!

I am not in dubai but have friends who have been for a couple o f years. They have just had a baby and are desperate to get out ! A combination of all the building work and the heat in the summer with a baby....

Anyway, maybe someone who lives out there might come on and give you a more detailed view !

Dubai is 4 hours ahead so it may be that any mnetters in dubai might be tucked up asleep now ?

I'd expect that the place to look for jobs depends on what industry/skillset you have? We sometimes see Dubai jobs in our field (IT) but wouldn't want to live, there, so haven't ever looked into it.

i have a friend in Dubai he works for Emirates. His wife is in recruitment and recruits staff for the malls around the coast. They love it out there but they dont have children - dont know how it would be with kids.

He sent an email through for Starmummy about the rental and lifestyle/cost over there. I can pass it onto you if you like.

Jampot would love email - it's [email protected]

2 or 3 years I think. They loved it at first - but don't think the lifestyle is as fun/good with a baby (but it might be better with older children).
