On here for advice as I can't go to my HR department because I work in the HR department Angry

So on Friday a colleague had me near to tears, came marching round to my desk and accused me of deliberately misplacing paper which has resulted in 33 people needing manual payment. Yes I admit I was the person that check and signed of the paperwork meaning I was the last person to actually sign the peice of paper but I am 100% sure I put it in the processing tray. To which I got called a silly cow and stormed away from. I know I put it in the processing tray as I check paperwork in batches of 100 not 33 so where the other 67? Oh wait they have been processed.

So missing a lot of nasty comments made when I stuck up for myself I go back to my desk and hear her tell the whole department (speaking loud enough for the whole floor of several departments to hear) how I can't do my job and shouldn't be employed.

The thing is I was on annual leave the week that payroll deadline was so even if I had (which I didnt) misplaced the paperwork and put them back in the tray to be check the person in checking would have seen my mistake to which I asked and she said it wasn't even in the checking tray (was when the mouthy one came to me about it).

I'm so p offed because two team leaders sit at my table so definately heard everything I did and done nothing. At the end of the day my team leader said she wanted supervision (one to one meeting) first thing tomorrow after I said I wasn't putting up with ...... Attitude and will be taken it further.

Could go on and on but it's long enough.

No need to write anything I just needing it off my chest as I know I will be the one coping the blame tomorrow grrrrrrrr!

Seen that no one has replied to this, just wanted to check you're okay and ask you how your supervision went? :)

Regardless of what actually happened here to be treated so disrespectful in the workplace is completely unacceptable. You would be quite justified in making a complaint about your colleague's behaviour - but that might not go down well and could label you as a snitch. Maybe write them a letter calmly explaining how their manner affected you. Spell out the sequence of events from your perspective that show you as not being to blame. Ideally use this as a script to have a conversation with your colleague but send it if face to face feels unmanageable. Most of all - keep a copy and keep a journal of any untoward episodes just in case this becomes a pattern. Join a union if you're not in one already and if you are, seek their support. We all deserve to be treated with dignity at work. Good luck Thanks

Is this person your manager? If not, then complain to your manager about how you were spoken to
