I have got a band 6 nurse interview. At the moment I'm overwhelmed as it is my first interview in 8 years! what sort of questions do they ask please? I'm sooo nervous.

They will ask questions mainly around the person spec and job description so have examples ready for every section. However at band 6 they will also probably ask questions around the wider the nhs agenda such as the impact of the francis report, funding cuts, and recent issues on quality, etc. Prior to interview make sure you contact the manager and ask lots of questions about the job to make sure you like the sound of it and also so you will be able to find out their priorities. It also helps them remember you. Good luck! Smile

I was asked things like what skills would you bring from your previous experience my interview was very scenario heavy what would you do if 2 band 5's in your team refused to work together how will u make sure appraisals are done on time. Just remember to sell yourself pick skills or attributes from the job description and give examples of how you have demonstrated this.
In my trust we had to do a presentation for our band 6 interviews. Good luck

My BIL had an interview for a band 6 ICU post recently and was asked about the Francis Report and how its conclusions apply to ICUs. Hope it goes well.
