I've seen a job advertised with a pay scale of £33k to £44k. I'm used to the private sector where I'd expect to try to persuade the interviewer to offer me pay at the top end of the scale. A friend who works in the NHS says that isn't how things work in the NHS and there a new entrant to the NHS would automatically start on £33k regardless of prior experience.
Does anyone know how it works at Cambridge University? I've looked on their website and it isn't clear (but if I had to guess it looks like they follow the NHS model.)
Thanks
