Work

Bad place :(

Hello mums,

I'm in a bit of a rubbish place and wonder if anyone had any tips.

I was made redundant from my last two jobs (the last one while I was on maternity leave, which was nice...) and am now working part-time from home. It looks like this job is going wrong too, in that, my new boss keeps trying to find every which way not to pay me. This is having a massive impact on my finances and is so scary with a young child. All of this is really eating away at my self-esteem. I keep worrying it's my fault that things keep going wrong with work, and I really don't know how to pull it round. PT work is so scarce at the moment, and, I'm of a senior level which makes it even harder.

Has anyone else been in this sort of situation? How did you get out of it?

Sorry to hear that.

In the current financial situ two redundancies could easily be just bad luck. Do you think that things went wrong there and the contributed to the decision to make you redundant? If you think you can gain something constructive from looking back, do, but if you cannot, try to forget about them and focus on your current role. Easier said than done I know.

Re current situ. Are you employed? Not being paid might suggest you are self-employed. What sort of feedback has your boss given you? Just holding back pay isn't very constructive, or probably legal in most cases.

Does your boss work from home too? I ask, as I am not sure everyone is comfortable with the idea of home working (not that is was necess your choice) and I wonder if their issues come from not being able to see you etc?

You need to understand why they aren't happy with you if you are to change anything.
