Employing a cleaner?

Thinking about having a cleaner 4 hrs a week, as DH & I are working so much (childminding)

Going to ask her to spring clean a room each week, so when she has finished the house she can start again

We (dh) can keep it going if it is really clean

Do you think this will work?

yes - we had a fab cleaner a few years ago and this sounds like exactly what she did: did bathroom and kitchen every week, hoover and dust other rooms, with one room getting a blitz every week - her idea too.

A kitchen may take longer than 4hrs to spring clean though, depending on size (if done properly)

Also if cleaner will be pulling out furniture, she will need help with this (health and safety), if she hurt herself she could sue you so be careful. It may be an idea to draw up a risk assessment.

I had thought the kitchen would take 2 or even 3 weeks

Good point about the H&S - I'll have a think

Good to know the basic idea might work tho'
