I'm a TA in a senior schcool but have also worked in primary. I love my job but have had a wrotten day today. do you have days like this

I too am a TA in a secondary school and quite often have bad days, particularly in lessons where the teacher can't control the class, so no learning at all gets done and it's impossible for me to do my job effectively. I know it's a bad day when the kids turn round and say to me "Miss, why are you here?" and I could reply (although I keep it to myself) "I honestly don't know why I'm here!"

Why have you had such a bad day?

Hell yes sometiems it's boring as anything or the kids are really shitty and you just think what the hell am I doing here?

I've been LSA to a SEN child for the past three years, he's just moved school and I've decided not to follow him (it's over the other side of town and not particularly convenient), so I'm basically looking for a job. I decided to try for something different as I've been getting a bit bored with the job, and had applied for School Secretary position, because I need job to fit in with school holidays, been for an interview this week, first one for 15 years but unfortunately didn't get it, was pipped at the post apparently (bitch).

So, I'll carry on doing the TA thing, and am going to apply at a local 2ndry school, but have always up to now worked in a primary. I expect it will be really different, the job is in a Support Unit for pupils with autism and behavioural problems. Could be a challenge!

i've had a child turn up with a freshstart. He has just mallested a girl in front of me. it is his 2nd day Iv'e done this job for years but have never felt like this.
