We are relocating to Plymouth / Tavistock area and would appreciate an update on Plymouth College Prep or alternatives. I have three children, two very sporty and one is dyslexic. Thank you.

If you want independent schools, Plymouth College and Mount Kelly in Tavistock will be your two most local choices. Both have their fan clubs. Plymouth College is perhaps the more sporty, and I am told that both are good on dyslexia support. There is also St Joseph's in Launceston, but it is small and only goes up to GCSE.

"Very sporty",be carefull-we were led to believe that Kelly/mk, was very sporty but it really isn't.
The provision for swimming is of course good(not a patch on Plymouth college-but still good) but the provision for mainstream sport is poor, our dd has had one inter school match this term!!!,the numbers in the senior school are not huge, then factor in the swimmers who aren't allowed to do any sport but swimming and the large number of boarders from abroad who don't know and don't care what hockey/netball/cricket etc are about and you end up with perhaps two or at the most three teams over the whole of the senior school, not a good situation .
The school has lots of dyslexic children.

OP if you are prepared to consider boarding, I would recommend you have a look at Blundells.
