Our DD is currently at a first school in Northumberland but we have been looking at independent schools in Newcastle. Our DD will be starting in year 5.
So far we have considered RGS, Newcastle High School for Girls and Dame Allan's. I have heard that RGS is a sporting and academic hothouse which I am worried about for DD. She is academic and sporty so maybe I am worrying over nothing. I'm not keen however on the fact there's a lot more boys than girls. On the other hand I'm not sure I like the idea of single sex education either. Dame Allan's seems to have the best of both worlds there but don't know much about that one.
Does anyone have experience of any of these schools?
