had to post and let you all know how my little boy got on today.for all of you that havent read any of my threads, my little boy was 4 in august and has development delays and speech problems.ive been worried like mad that he wouldnt get on and would just sit on his own and hate it at school.he went in today proudly wearing his uniform like his brother who goes.photos were taken of them together outside school gates etc, with mothers staring like i was an alien or something, do no other mothers photo their child on their first day at school????
he went in no problem and kissed us goodbye etc, came out at lunch to come home as he doesnt go full time until january.he was happy as anything and the teacher said he got on fine.he found his brother at playtime and played with him and cried at lunch because he wanted to stay at school and play with his brother in the playground.im just so pleased.hoping it stays like this and he flourishes with everyday he's there.the teacher seems great and she knows im worried about the other children not icluding him because of his speech etc and she's keeping an eye out for me and mnaking sure they group him with children that can talk well so hell copy them and learn from them too.a good day, except im having to cope with the reality that i havent got any 'babies' at home now.

thankyou.my eldest has now informed me that he doesnt want to go to school all day anymore, he wants to come home at lunch with his brother.yet another problem im going to have to deal with! keep making sure that the fun outings are done once he's out of school in the afternoon and not when its just his brother at home.i dont think its fair otherwise and he'll feel he's missing all the fun and attention.fingers crossed for a positive second day.as little one isnt clear with alot of his speech and doesnt understand the question why? he hasnt really told me what he's done at school apart from play with his brother at playtime so im going to have to rely on the teachers to keep me informed of any problems and his progress.its the playtimes that worry me, not the classroom time, they're more closely supervised in the classroom.
