Hi we are looking to buy in Thames Ditton and I would really appreciate any feedback on these two schools, I see that the Junior School just got a Good Ofsted report (published today). Does anyone have any views on that, it was Outstanding previously.

A lot of local schools are being down graded following new Ofsted rules, any school still rated outstanding probably has an older Ofsted inspection. One school actually went from Outstanding to needs improvement!

TD is a very good school, and your main concern should be exactly where you chose to live and is it in the new Hinchley Wood Secondary catchement area, see map on their web site. Everyone wants HW, and they have shrunk the catchment and created link schools. TD is a link school but you must be in catchment. It all may seem a long way away now, but believe me this will be very important.

Hi,

We're moving to Thames Ditton and I see that we would be within the Hinchley Wood catchment area, but looking at this year's furthest accepted pupil, we still would have been too far away...

I couldn't find anything about linked schools on the Hinchley Wood admissions criteria - is this definitely a factor? Were there TD Junior School pupils who didn't get in this year?

Thanks for your help!

I've actually just found this info for admissions 2015 on the website - sorry to be thick...
