What times tables does your Year 2 child know / is expected to know?

My DD is doing 2, 5 and 10 at the moment.

The expectation would be 2, 5 and 10's - multiplication and associated divisions facts, in order and out of order. Preferably as fast as possible.

Then, possibly starting on 3s and 4s by counting up and down in steps of 3 or 4.

We did 2's, 5's and 10's before Christmas (multiplication only) followed by 3's in January. Now we are on to "dividing by 2".

dd pretty much knows her 2, 5, 10, 11, 3, 4 and (random reason) 9 times tables. Thanks to Mr Percy Parker, whom I thoroughly recommend for kids who love singing/songs.

She only knows the 9s because she acted out Percy's version for a school talent show in Y1 - but proving very useful now Grin

Winky, there's a vast range of tables-knowing at this age - dd1 didn't know any other than 2s and 10s by the end of Y2, because she wasn't interested. She's in Y5 now and knows them all backwards.

And if you have an ipad or iphone, and your dd likes singing, try Percy Parker Wink

You're not even half way through year 2. Dd2 didn't know them by this time last year. By the end of yr 2 she knew her 2s, 5s and 10s.
Just get her counting in 2's to start with.

Ah yes, Squeebles are brilliant. Thats how dd1 learned all hers (end of Y3). She was not a Percy fan...
