Don't worry they are used to it!I used to blub everytime they said something nice about ds when I was on dialysis as they all thought he was doing well considering!I think they had the tissues at the ready as I was coming in!

it was so sad. i said to the teahcer, that at 5yrs old dd1 shouldnt know as much as she does. she tells the teacher stuff so matter of factly, and rarely gets sad. apparently they had been talking about feelings, they had watched a film about a baboon in the moon who gets all lonely, and dd1 really took it all in and thought about it. and then did her peice of writing. she is really quite sensitive, when she was palying at PIL, ashe stopped playing and said to FIL ' i think i am going to cry now' and burst into tears.

Oh misdee you really do go through it!She sounds a lovely little girl but it shows that they are sometimes feeling things that they don't often say like missing her dad!xx

Well, you know what? This makes me sad because I'm so sorry that Peter is ill and it's unfair and awful that you are all going through this and I would have cried too and I feel all emotional just thinking about it. But also, how very normal and sweet and lovely and clever of dd1. So many kids (and adults) just aren't as emotionally wise as she is, you know. I suspect it's a very healthy sign that she's able to express her emotions about missing her daddy and worrying about him, I really do.

Was she looking forward to the home visit too then misdee?
I'm so sorry.
I cried at school recently too. I went in there feeling fine, but there's something about seeing your child through the eyes of others which really brings home to you what they're going through.
Have they offered your dd art therapy? It sounds like she's doing her own anyway, but I wondered about something a little more structured. I'm not sure how it works.

I think it is absolutely great that she can express her feelings like this - really totally spot on. You are doing a great job as a mother - there is no way your children could or should be protected from the sadness of your situation and it is natural and healthy for them to be able to talk about it, write and draw about it, cry about it. Just as it is for you, and I hope it helped a bit to let some tears out.
