Hi SNOW.
I know nothing about the item but i think i would be tempted to let the auction run. Especially as they aren't offering more than the reserve!

You will get a better price than the reserve if you just let it run, ime.

It's against Ebay rules for him to do this. I would be wary of him tbh, if he's a genuine Ebayer he'll know the rules and he'll know that this is clearly against those rules.

Let it run. Because if you don't, should anything go wrong, you won't be protected by Ebay and I suspect that's why he's asking you to end it early. By sticking with Ebay, you have their full protection.

"I know £90 no commission will get his courier to pick it up still have to pay paypal fees tempted she is skint"

I've heard about this, sounds like a scam to me.

I know I am not going to end it early if it reaches its reserve she will be happy and if we get more happier
the buyer seems friendly enough but I am not familiar with dj stuff and prefer to be protected a bit by ebay and paypal,

Thankyou for your advice
confirmed what I guess I know but it is tempting when you are skint.
Hope someone local buys it the unit is really heavy and I would prefer some one to check it over before they took it.

Got some speakers to list too but totally in the ark with them too

When we advertised our caravan on Ebay we were swamped with people asking us to take it off Ebay, saying that they'd give us the full asking price, by bank transfer, and would send their courier to collect it.

'Twas all a scam.

You'll probably get more interest and a better price if you add p&p costs. I've used www.parcel2go.com a few times for large items and they've been really good and cheap too. I agree it's best not to let them arrange their own courier, just to be on the safe side.

Definitely cash only on collection, and count it carefully - someone handed my brother a pile of notes for a cupboard and acted very unconvincingly surprised when DB counted the money and found it short. Paypal doesn't give you any protection at all as a seller if your item is collected.

IME, if people want you to end your auction early, it's going to get a good price.

You can check what these have gone for in the past by going to advanced search and clicking the box for "search completed items".
