Should I be pissed off- paid for postage but item hand delivered!

Having written the title of this down - I'm thinking probably not as its not that bad!

Basically paid £5 postage but new seller lived about 30mins drive from me- we did discuss me picking up or meeting in a mutually convienient place but in the end decided to pay postage to save hassle.

But then it turns out she hand delivered it. I know I still got my item so what do I care- but I think it is a bit cheeky as if I had known she wasn't going to pay postage I probably would have gone and picked it up.

Oh sod it- it was a fiver at the end of the day- if it was more I think I would be pissed off but in terms of saving me the hassle and an hours round trip it is probably worth a fiver. (oh and since it was an expensive electrical item in a way she guarenteed its safe arrival!)

Ooops think I answered my own post! But out of interest how would you feel if a buyer did it to you?

I'd think it was a good idea on their part. Why pay a courier or the post office to bring it when you can deliver it yourself. The £5 was her delivery charge and fair enough I'd say.

yep phewf!

I did have a moment of "Cheeky So and So!" but that was egged on by the ladies in the office (i'm easily led) and to be fair the parcel had a valentines card in there as a joke which made me smile too!

Yep okie coke tis fairy nuff- I think it would have been pissed off if I was charged £10 postage though!

I dont really have a problem with this. I did the same recently to be honest - we sold something to a buyer that lived a few miles away. He could see where we lived and we offered a buyer collection option but he didnt mention it. Dp was going past so I said save the money and just drop it off. If anything I would be pleased (as a buyer) if someone were to do the same as you know it is going to arrive and not get lost in the post! and probably sooner!

I think I would have reacted a bit like you at first and been cross, but with reflection, it's fine, isn't it. The fiver covered her petrol, and it was safer than actually posting it.

I wouldnt mind if that happened to me. They have had to pay the petrol, and driven for an hour for £5.

At the end of the day you got what you wanted, for the price you thought you were paying, I dont think it matters at all how she got it to you.
