eBay

I've just noticed that the bidder wanted to retract the bid....

I had a girl's dress up for auction, there was only one bidder and it ended on Sat. I've just noticed now that the bidder sent a message on Friday asking politely if they could retract the bid. She's since paid, obviously taking my ignoring her as a no. I'm not bothered about selling the dress and the price it went for hardly makes it worth my while.
Should I message her and refund what she has paid? I know she's entered a contract and all that, but I'm prepared to do it as a gesture of goodwill. I've never had to do a refund before, and I'm not really very eBay au fait.

You can refund via Paypal if you view the transaction. You will also need to send a 'cancel transaction' request via eBay or you will get reminders to post etc.
Best to contact buyer first to check what she wants to do. eBay will keep a record of message so if there are any issues it will be there. Best not to refund with no warning.

Download the eBay app - it pings messages and any bids in a kerching fashion!!

My phone storage is completely full so no room unfortunately. If I don't hear back from her by this time tomorrow would I be out of order to just post it?

No, but again it's best to send a message tomorrow saying 'As I haven't heard back from you I am going to assume you would still like to receive the item and will be posting it to you tomorrow (date). If you would prefer a refund please let me know by ...'
I know all of this is weirdly formal but if eBay customer services ever get involved you are covered.

You would be required to post it, really, by the dispatch window you said you would keep to.
