Bleach mark on clothing

I'd welcome views on this please.

Bought an item of clothing on eBay and it was described as being in good worn condition with a faint mark.

When it arrived the mark was not faint, pretty noticeable and on the shoulder, so prominent. It's also on the back and the front. It's a ring shape in pink about the size of the bottom of a coffee cup. I suspect it is something like vanish bleach, so won't wash out.

I sent a very polite message to seller explaining the above and asking to return for refund. She said 'refunds not accepted' and she stands by the description even though it simply said 'faint mark' but no other info.

She has offered me a partial refund of £2.95 (item was £12.95 and postage for small parcel was £3.50).

I think a return and refund is in order. AIBU?

Yes, and EBay will agree. You will likely have to pay for the tracked postage though .

Not unreasonable. Can you raise a dispute with Ebay?

I can raise it with eBay. Thought I'd try the polite, informal approach first but will go through official returns if MN says I am NBU.

Do refunds include original postage (but not return postage)?

Last time I did a completely not as described (worn once or twice, maybe on the London to Paris bike ride!!)
I got full refund of all my payment and didn't have to return the item *(which I would have done)

Open a dispute, return and you'll get full refund. She is being unreasonable and has no leg to stand on re the no refund policy.

Open a case asap and get a refund as your item is not as discribed, and small parcel is £2.80 not £3.50 so get the process started now sweetie and get your money back.

The normal outcome MeridianB is a full refund of the total amount paid in the original transaction. But as others said, you might be out of pocket for the cost of returning it.

return postage needs to be tracked - standard small parcel is not tracked and will not cover you.
